About us

Hi! We are Kriszti and Mario. Kriszti is from Hungary and Mario is from Croatia and Bosnia. 2019 we have decided to embark on a trip around Southeast Asia. And there we have our blog - mostly to keep friends and family updated in an easy way but also to help anyone wanting to follow our path by writing down itineraries, costs and tips on finding transportation and accommodation. Kriszti has worked as a financial modeler and Mario worked as consultant in optimization software for oil refineries. We have both travelled a lot before embarking on the journey of our life and some posts may cover those travels as well.

Tourism in Saudi Arabia - Yanbu Saudi Arabia - 2017

Last Friday Saudi Arabia announced that they are introducing 90-day e-visas for tourism. According to Financial Times the tourist visa will cost $117 plus VAT, will be valid for one year and will allow for a stay of up to 3 months. This will be available to citizens of 49 countries, including all EU members. So, I decided to upload a few photos from my business trip to Yanbu, Saudi Arabia two years ago and to write down a short text. I was also in a need to practice my posting skills. Unfortunately, no great photos as I only had my old phone camera and just half a free day. On that half a free day I took an Uber ride to check out the corniche and grab a lunch. Ko Kut - our favourite piece of Thailand

Just one of the beautiful beaches on Ko Kut Is it Ko Kud, Koh Kut, Koh Kud or Ko Kut, Maybe Koh Kood? It doesn't really matter - what matters is that among the 12 places we have visited in Thailand and twice more on our Big Southeast Asia Trip it has had the best combination of great beaches, lack of crowds, great waterfalls and fun atmosphere. To be honest, apart from Koh Chang we didn't visit too many other beach destinations. In part because we did a research to avoid places filled with other tourists, and in part because we have postponed our visit to South of Thailand for a separate trip at the end of our journey. That is something that has never happened though due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions. My first visit to China

Fuzimiao - Confucius Temple - at night! It was exactly 2 years ago, on October 15th 2018, that I woke up in China. It would be my first time in China, and some trip it was. I came for business, as usual :). 6 months later I will be back with my fiancee for a longer stay with some more cities to visit. I landed the day before at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Shanghai was not my main destination however. Nanjing was where I was headed to. Luckily, my Singaporean colleague Nelson equipped me with some very thorough and very needed instructions on how to take a Taxi from Shanghai Pudong to Shanghai Hongqiao from where I would take the fast train to Nanjing. I also received thorough instructions on how to buy the train ticket with my passport. Thanks Nelson! That saved me! Hongqiao train station looked more like an airport with a very modern and shiny central area with plenty of shops and restaurants.
